I have watched many of the above videos as references.

Anatomy 4

Welding the armature has been fun as I have got to experiment with soldering and welding. It is great to explore welding in a more artistic way rather than welding only to create a strong joint on a chair or stand.

Anatomy 3

Video reference showing each muscle.

This video helps me understand each muscle. I realise how complex the body is. With this research I have decided to simplify  sculpt. In the time I will sculpt the outer layer of muscles but still try and get an understanding on the first layers of muscle.

Anatomy 2

I have been using the book Albinus on Anatomy (Robert Beverly Hale and Terence Coyle. The book compiles the work of Bernard Siegfried Albinus, the greatest anatomist of the 18th century. The drawing and engraving by Albinus’s artist Jan Wandelaar are so detailed. Each bone and muscle is shown separately helping me understand what they are like on their own as well as together.

Anatomy 1

I have started to look at the history of anatomy and find the subject fascinating. How the earliest anatomist and physicians illustrate anatomy is beautiful. For example Leonardo Da Vinci’s manuscripts show the shape and form of the human body in a very accurate but beautiful style.  I do not see this in a lot of the modern anatomy books.

Hamlet Designers changes

Today I thought that I was close to finishing the headpiece however the designer wanted the colour changed. This is extremely frustrating as this will hold me back however i must remember that that we are all working for the same thing and do what is best for the final look.

Hamlet Headpiece

This piece is fun to make as the design is very unusual and I am able to explore different colour techniques and shapes. although this is fun I also need to be aware that I have a time limit that must be stuck to and the finished prop must look like the design.
